Water remains an un-realized resource within Yonkers. Simultaneously, impacts on ecological and hydrological systems to the Hudson and Sawmill Rivers have become an escalating issue. As a peripheral entity to the metropolis of Manhattan, Yonkers is bypassed by valuable infrastructure and resources derived from regional flows. The challenge becomes to capitalize on Yonkers inherent hydrological potential (k) to derive a more prominent local flow from the region and in turn returning the [ALT]ered flow to participate in the ebbs of regional exchange. The project proposes hydro-focused urban strategies which catalyze the topography to maximize the waters potential and serves as a prototype for future urban development.
